Mrs Judith Harris reviewing literature from “El Sembrador” (“The Sower”).
It was on 16 May 1959 when the young Eglón Harris asked Miss Judith Clatworthy what God had put in his heart: "Do you want to come with me to Mexico to serve the Lord in El Sembrador?"
The "Yes" that came out so clearly and sincerely, united them in the Lord's service from that day on. What followed were wonderful confirmations of the wisdom of God's choice. Her professional career would lead her to work in the trust section of a bank in Exeter, serving as a Sunday School teacher, developed her skills on the violin and piano, attended conferences and workshops, worked in Christian camps, and served in her local church.
All this was a preparation and confirmation as someone that would work as one with her husband in the ministry that the Lord had prepared for her in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico, thus fulfilling her mother's desire in prayer when she asked God to one day call her daughter to be a missionary somewhere in the world.
On 7 July 1962, she married Eglón Harris and later, on 8 August, the church that was gathered in Belmont Chapel (in Exeter, England) held a special meeting to commend them to the work of the Lord in Mexico.
Her farewell in Southampton, England, was not easy. She left her father, mother and twin brother, but she travelled with her husband trusting in the Lord's promises.
A month later, on 13 September 1962, they arrived in Orizaba and from that moment they worked together discovering their strengths and weaknesses, at all times the Lord was with them and helped them, confirming His word and His promises every day during 63 years of service in the ministry of "El Sembrador" and in the local church in Orizaba and surrounding areas.
This 2 April 2025, our beloved sister Judith Harris was called into the presence of the Lord. She is already resting from her labours, but her works remain. We thank God for her dedication, commitment and faithfulness in the service of the Lord, as well as testimony and example for several generations who saw in her the love of Christ.
